Ollie and Bianca invited me over to the Isle of Man and even put me up in their home for two days, which was very decent of them. The island itself feels like it’s been carved out of history — all rugged cliffs, windswept beaches, and the odd castle ruin thrown in for good measure. Since it’s their patch, I let them take the lead on where to go, which meant every spot actually mattered to them rather than just looking good on camera.

The weather decided to play along, though in its own way. At Peel Castle, the skies were suitably moody, which gave the ruins plenty of atmosphere without me needing to do much. Then, in Groudle Glen, the sun broke through the trees at just the right moment, lighting up bridges and streams like something out of a folk tale. Not bad for a couple of days’ work.
